IBDP History Teacher (online)
SEK-Global Campus is seeking experienced IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) teachers to help deliver our Online IBDP pilot, developed in cooperation with the International Baccalaureate. We are seeking a passionate and experienced IBDP History Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of globally-minded learners.
Mission: Promote student learning through thoughtfully planned, delivered, and assessed lessons that support their growth in all areas: academic, physical, socio-emotional, and ethical. Create an inclusive online learning environment that fosters respect and understanding of diverse cultures, empowering students to thrive as globally-minded individuals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to an interconnected world.
Functions:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Provide synchronous instruction and asynchronous student facilitation support.
• Work closely with and support a broad variety of international students.
• Foster inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to ask questions, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Support students in completing internal assessments (IAs) and preparing for IB external examinations.
• Develop and administer assessments that align with IB standards.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments, assessments, and projects to support student progress.
• Assist students in developing effective study and research skills.
• Mentor and guide students in their academic, physical, socio-emotional, and ethical development.
• Create a supportive online classroom environment where students feel respected, valued, and motivated to learn.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on student progress.
• Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional learning communities, and ongoing IB training workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and enhance the Biology curriculum.
• Stay current with IB curriculum updates and online teaching best practices.
• Provide sufficient and timely feedback on student work.
• Work with and collaborate with Tutor Teachers and IB Diploma Progamme Coordinator.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Utilize digital tools such as ManageBac, Microsoft Teams, and virtual lab platforms to enhance learning.
• Leverage technology to create interactive lessons, simulations, and experiments.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in History, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Fluency in English (C1)
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching IB Biology (preferably online).
• Proficiency in online teaching tools and platforms.
Physical Location: 100% online. Timezone within 3 or 4 hours of Central European Time (CET)
